Interviewing at S&H
What should I bring to the Interview?
Please bring a paper copy of your resume and proof that you have the legal right to work in the United States.
Must I be a US Citizen to work at S&H Machine?
You do not need to be a United States citizen to work at S&H Machine but you must be eligible to work in the United States.
What is E-Verify?
E–Verify is an Internet-based system that compares information from your Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Social Security Administration (SSA) records to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
Will you contact my references?
We will contact work-related references to verify dates of employment, the employee’s former job title and whether or not the employee is rehireable.
Where is my interview?
You will be contacted before your interview and given information about the date, time and place of your interview.
Your first day
What should I wear?
On your first day, please where long / full-length pants and a short-sleeved shirt. Shoes must be slip resistant. You will receive more details on your regular attire during your first day.
What documents should I bring?
Please bring the preferred form of identification specified on the I-9 sent to you.
Preferred form of enrollment specified on the Direct Deposit document sent to you.
Several other documents will be sent to you which must be completed in advance of your start date.
Where do I park?
You may park in any non-reserved spot in our parking lots in front of or around our facilities. If no spaces are available in the parking lot, overflow parking is available on the street.

You will be notified of the location of your first day at work. If it is at our Burbank facility:

Will I receive any training?
During your first week, you will be scheduled for training with our Human Resources department and with your department supervisor. The specific hours will be communicated to you in advance and may be different than your permanent scheduled hours.
Throughout your time at S&H, you will receive additional training in S&H procedures, equipment use, safety training, workplace interaction and more. If you are ever unclear about anything please contact your supervisor or Human Resources representative for clarification or additional training.
Medical Insurance Benefits
When are medical benefits available?
Medical benefit eligibility begins after 60 days of employment for all employees who work more than 32 hours per week.

Eligibility begins after 60 days of employment for all employees who work more than 32 hours per week.
Do I have a choice of medical insurance providers?
Yes, we currently provide you with a choice of HMO medical providers. You will be given the options during your orientation.
Do you offer Dental Insurance?
Yes. The Dental Plan is 100% paid by S&H Machine for eligible employees. Employees also have the option to obtain coverage for their family members. Eligibility begins after 60 days of employment for all employees that work over 32 hours.
Do you have a vision care plan?
Yes. The Vision Plan is 100% paid by S&H Machine for eligible employees. Employees also have the option to obtain coverage for their family members. Eligibility begins after 60 days of employment for all employees that work over 32 hours.
Do you have a Flexible Spending Account?
Yes. Eligible employees have an option to use the company offered Flexible Spending Account to put money away to pay for certain out-of-pocket health care and dependent costs. Eligibility begins after 60 days of employment for all employees that work over 32 hours.
Do I get paid vacation days?
2 Weeks Vacation is paid to each eligible employee after 1 year of employment and 3 Weeks Vacation after 5 years. Eligibility begins after 60 days of Full-Time Employment.
Do I get paid for holidays?
Eligible employees are paid for 7 major holidays each year. Eligibility begins after 60 days of employment for all employees that work over 32 hours.
Do you offer a retirement plan or 401k?
Each year a contribution is made by the company into the eligible employee’s retirement fund. Employees choose to invest this money in cash, stock, or bond funds of employee’s choosing. Employees may also elect to defer money into their 401k plan.
Do you have any education reimbursements?
Yes! Required courses leading to an Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in an area related to S&H’s business may be eligible for reimbursement up to $1,000 per year. Please contact your Human Resources representative for additional details.
Can I be reimbursed for non-degree training classes?
Yes! S&H encourages our team members to take vocational training related to their job and may reimburse some of the expenses. Please contact your Human Resources representative for additional details.
Do you reimburse for required work shoes?
S&H will reimburse up to 70% of the cost of approved work-related shoes.
Do you reimburse for prescription safety glasses?
S&H provides 100% reimbursement for approved prescription safety glasses.
