Code of Conduct Policy

“Our success depends on the success of our customers.”
David Fisher, President, S&H Machine

Purpose: The purpose of the policy is to define the Code of Conduct at S&H Machine that all employees must follow.

The S&H Code of Conduct is one of the ways we put our values into practice. This code, in connection with our work at S&H, will be and should be, measured against the highest possible standards of ethical business conduct.

Who Must Follow Our Code?

We expect all of our employees to know and follow the Code. Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment.

Our Code of Conduct:

Manufacturing Excellence – Our motto is “Manufacturing Excellence”. This includes all the parts we produce and every process we perform. Achieving excellence requires commitment, drive and a determination to do our very best, and to be recognized as leader. We are proud of the hard work that our employees contribute at S&H.

Quality – Quality has always been the foundation and the focus of S&H. Our Quality Management System (QMS) ensures that we deliver on our promise of quality and actively participate in continuous improvement efforts across our business. We provide the highest quality precision machined products and assemblies that meet or exceed our customer’s requirements. Our commitment is to fully conform to the ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standard. Everything is built on this attribute. Without quality, we have nothing.

E.A.R/I.T.A.R – As an E.A.R (Export Administration Regulations) and I.T.A.R (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) regulated business, we fully comply with all U.S. exports laws and regulations; all business shall be conducted in accordance with all applicable U.S. laws and regulatory requirements. In particular, no export transactions will be permitted that are contrary to applicable U.S. Export laws and regulations. Non-compliance with these export restrictions and requirements are an extremely serious matter. We will take the necessary steps and actions to ensure continued viability.

Confidentiality – Integral to S&H’s business success is our protection of confidential company information, as well as nonpublic information entrusted to us by employees, customers and other business partners. We will not disclose confidential and nonpublic information without a valid business purpose and proper authorization.

Conflict of Interest – Employees are expected to use good judgment, to adhere to high ethical standards, and to avoid situations that create an actual or potential conflict of interest between the employee’s personal interests and the interests of the Company. If an actual or potential conflict of interest is determined to exist, we will take steps, as it deems necessary to reduce or eliminate this conflict. We cannot let any relationship or activity that might impair, or even appear to impair, our ability to make objective and fair decisions when performing our jobs.

Investigations – Management is responsible for investigating with appropriate response to reports of suspected violations of law, policies, and internal control procedures. Employees are encouraged to address issues with their managers or Human Resources in good faith and without reprisal. If any improper behavior is found to have occurred, we will take the appropriate action.

Open Door Policy – We promote communication that is professional, respectful and that will make others feel safe. An open-door policy encourages effective and open communication. It means listening more than we are speaking and communicating without deception. All feedback is welcomed and employees can ask questions, voice concerns, and make appropriate suggestions regarding business practices of the company without any fear of reprisal.

Human Trafficking – It is our policy not to engage in the use of forced, bonded (including debt bondage) or indentured labor, involuntary prison labor, slavery, or trafficking of persons. This includes transporting, harboring, recruiting, transferring, or receiving vulnerable persons by means of threat, force, coercion, abduction, or fraud for the purpose of exploitation. We expect the same of our vendors.

Respect for Others – Employees are expected to be considerate and polite to co-workers, customers, suppliers and visitors. We value a workforce built on the respect of others.  Professionalism, kindness and a caring attitude are expected at all times when working with others.  This respect shall be demonstrated in both our written and verbal communications.  The goal is to be helpful, help others to feel safe, and work to encourage engagement and overall happiness at S&H.

For further guidance refer to the Employee Handbook. If you are unsure of anything, seek guidance by speaking with your manager or human resources.
